Labeling swings on the TAIEX components you actually watch

How we ask Taipei students to choose which equity swings count when the index and the name disagree.

Labeling swings on the TAIEX components you actually watch

Working near Pan-chiao means many students track Taiwan-listed names alongside the broader index. Conflict appears when the index prints a higher high while a single component stalls under its own swing.

Pick one governing timeframe first

If you trade daily structure, do not promote fifteen-minute pivots into your primary map. Nested charts are allowed only after the daily swings are inked. Mixing them early is the most common source of false trend reversal signals in our private reviews.

When the name and the index diverge

Write both narratives. The index may still be advancing while your name has already broken its rising structure. That divergence is information about relative strength, not automatic permission to fade or chase. Our intensive homework often includes one paired exercise: same session window, index chart beside the component, separate swing labels on each.

Practical seating tip

Bring printed dailies for two names you already hold or watch. Annotating familiar symbols keeps the discussion concrete and reduces the urge to hide behind exotic pairs you never trade.

Structure work is local to the chart in front of you. The index is context, not a veto stamp on every line you draw.
