Building a reversal scorecard you can defend aloud
A checklist we use in the Reversal Signal Clinic so students reject weak turns without needing a new indicator.
The Reversal Signal Clinic hands every student a one-page scorecard. It is deliberately short. Long checklists become excuses to force a trade.
Columns that matter
- Is the prior trend’s structure clearly marked?
- Has a change of character printed on the trading timeframe?
- Does the candidate signal reclaim or fail a level that the prior move respected?
- Does the higher timeframe disagree loudly enough that you should stand down?
If any of the first three answers is “no,” the signal is rejected in the drill even if the candle looks theatrical.
Why we time the drill
Under a stopwatch, students reveal their habits. Some accept too quickly; others freeze. Both patterns show up before money is involved. We grade the reasoning, not a fictional P&L.
After the clinic
Keep the scorecard beside your live charts for two weeks. Mark accepts and rejects in pencil. Bring the sheet to a private review if you want critique. The paper trail is more useful than memory alone when discussing trend reversal signals with an instructor.
